I agree with Mr Hobbs-Ainsley (Letters, December 9), and wonder if the politicians hell bent on closing A&E departments have given any thought to the extra stress, strain and work this will put on ambulance crews, especially if they are trying to keep alive a heart attack victim or someone with severe internal bleeding following a road accident.
I also wonder where these people are to be admitted - the RSCH is usually pretty full with patients from the Brighton and Hove area.
Are they going to subject these victims to a further long ride to a hospital with a vacant bed?
These transfers would have to be done by a trained crew, so who would cover the emergency calls?
Obviously, these plans have been thought up by someone with no knowledge of medical procedures.
